
ONSLOW COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA - RECORD OF WILLS - BOOK A
Frances Eslick - January 11 , 1814
In the name of God, Amen. I, Frances Eslick of the state of North Carolina
and the County of Onslow, being sick and weak in body but of sound and perfect
memory, do make this my last will and testament in mannerand form following.
That is to say, first I commit my soul to the Almighty God that gave it and my
body to the earth from whence it was taken, to be buried in such decent manner
as my executors hereafter named shall think proper and as taking such worldly
estate as the Lord has lent me, my will and meaning is the same that is to say,
I frustrate and make void all wills by me formerly made and make and appoint
this my last will and testament in manner and form following, viz:
Item: I give and bequeath unto my loving wife Sophia my whole land and tenants
house and household furniture and all plantation utensils, team and stock of all kinds,
the whole to be at her disposal during her natural life or widowhood, then to be equally
divided among all my children, beginning with my son Samuel, allthat is then living
& I appoint Jonathon Ketchum and Isaac Landen Esq., executors to this my last will and testament,
in the witness whereunto I have set my hand and seal this 11th of January in the year
of our Lord 1814.
